Eurocom, a mobile marketing company and specialist prize sourcing and fulfilment company, was founded by Marco Broccardo together with two business partners in 2005. According to Marco, the industry has evolved since his inception almost several years ago. He says it has become more competitive, which means the ability to adapt,be nimble and still remain focussed on your core strengths is vital.
Marco founded the Mountain Heights initiative after conquering his drug addiction, with the vision of increasing awareness regarding the severity of drug addiction in South Africa today and to ultimately realise the goal of giving hope to the addicted. He often counsels recovering addicts and speaks at various events to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. Marco has written a book called titled “ROCKS – One Man’s Climb From Drugs to Dreams” , to be published in October 2014.
A Key Talent | Tenacity and the ability to take risks! Being tenacious is unfortunately not something that comes without a lot of practice. Most often the practice takes the form of getting up after you fail. That’s why risk taking goes hand in this; you must be willing to take risks in order to succeed. My advice would be that you start stepping out on the small risks, calculated ones. If they fail keep trying!
I Am Driven By | For me business is far more that just making money. I have a bigger vision, because of my history with drugs and addiction and the fact that I beat addiction I created a business that could become a vehicle that would enable me to spread the message of hope. I like to terms this Social Entrepreneurship. If you don’t have something compelling driving you then in the darkest moments of your business you may find that you lack the drive and compulsion to continue.
My Highlights | Without a doubt the major highlight in my life is the fact that by Gods Grace I was able to overcome addiction and through that process meet my wife who is a core source of strength and motivation. The fact that I could change inspires me to help others. From a business point of view, pivoting our business into a new direction and delivering a product that will revolutionise the way interaction based marketing is handled is something I am very proud of.
The recent release of my book “Rocks” is also something I am very proud of.
My Future Dreams And Ambitions | I have set up a NPO called Mountain Heights, the idea is to create hope with those suffering from addiction as well as the families that are concerned. We do this by providing funding for rehabilitation as well as counseling. We also embark on extreme physical challenges that demonstrate that even those that were once discarded by society because of their addiction are able to achieve great things. We embarked on a journey to climb the 7 Summits and have climbed three of them so far we also set a world record by being the first team to walk unsupported across the Arabian desert. We aim to complete the rest of the mountains as well as any other compelling and outrageous challenges. The main objective however remains to build a world-class self-sustaining rehab center that caters for both the rich and the poor.
The Meaning Of Life | Without my faith and belief in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I don’t believe that I would have been able to achieve anything of value. The meaning of life for me is to spread the message of hope that if we that were once hopeless in our addictions / problems / depressions are able to rise up then so can anyone else.
Advice On Building Wealth | For me having a bigger vision than just getting rich has and will always be a huge motivator. Money is a horrible master, so never make that the only goal instead get rich for a reason.
The Legacy I Would Like To Leave | I would like to be remembered by my children not only for the material items but more so for the principles I lead my life by. I would like for my life to have made a difference to someone’s life in that if I could bring hope and through that hope inspire change then my life was worthwhile.
Performing At My Peak | I make sure that I spend enough time with my wife and children especially quality time away. Also surrounding yourself with an awesome team that can shoulder some of the load is critical.
I Am Inspired By | My role models are Jesus Christ, my wife and children, the men and women of our country who wake up at ridiculous hours of the day just to get 
to work on time. All the people that despite the hardships they face still take the time to smile!
