Arno Carstens started his career as the lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls and is now a solo artist. He has released 10 studio albums, 5 as the lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls, 1 as half of the Electronica project, Bhelltower and 4 as a solo artist. He has had over 20 top ten singles, won 5 South African Music Awards and shared the stage with legends of the music world including U2, The Rolling Stones and REM.
My Definition Of Success | Success still means a lot, but that which defines success has changed for me, over the years. Simple answer is that when you’re young you have big dreams and you talk about “one day” then suddenly you wake up and you realize today is “one day”. I think that’s when the more realistic idea of success starts to define your life. That said, I still dream of winning Wimbledon at age 60!!
I Am Driven By | Everything unrealistic and creating art that is yet to be thought of, whether it’s music or fine art. Our existence depends on these thought processes.
My Highlights | My career and my life is intertwined. I’ve been a lucky guy in both, but looking at my son I think he is a manifestation of everything I can call a highlight.

Adjusting To The Times | Through the years I had to change my understanding of human interaction. All people change constantly; cultures change; it’s an ongoing process and good interaction is pivotal to success.

Dealing With Doubt | After Springbok Nude Girls broke up my record company left me and the phone stopped ringing. First depression set in then a liberating feeling came over me. I got private investors and started working on my first solo album without delusions of grandeur. Some how through that, great things started to happen for me and that became my best selling album yet.
Performing At My Peak | I rest well and try not to work too hard ha ha.

How To Inspire Others | It’s difficult. The best is to set them free to make them do what they do best. Plus there are a lot of talented people in the world, don’t get stuck on specific souls, it’s not good for you or for the other person.

The Legacy I Want To Leave | I don’t really think about that as long as my kid is not too embarrassed by me, then I’m cool. I guess if I leave this planet and I’ve made some people happy it would have all been worth it.
